I am an artist based in Bristol, UK, primarily interested in art of the natural world, working in watercolour, ink, acrylic and oils, along with the (under-appreciated) pencil. I have recently become more involved in working with horses and riders, particularly with the Avon and Somerset Police's Mounted Division, and am now branching out into further equestrian subjects.
I am also experienced in storyboarding and in generating artwork for television documentary.
As a writer, I am very interested in local Bristol history, and author of "Lost Bristol" (reprinted 2016) and "The Trade" (2007), (Birlinn).
I am also a scriptwriter, with a long track record of writing narration scripts for natural history and science documentaries. I have experience in commercial copywriting for print.
In a past life I was an engineer, with a first degree in engineering and experience in the defense industry, followed by 12 years of teaching mathematics, physics and computing before moving into the media full time.
My previous experience includes working as a development executive, managing the development of specialist factual (including science and nature) documentaries for UK and international clients.

Apart from my artwork, I love all science, sci-fi, dinosaurs.. and I dabble in bonsai (although my trees tend to survive despite me rather than because of me!)
